If You Have An Emergency With Your Pet
During regular business hours, you can always bring your pet straight to our hospital. Please call us on your way to allow us to prepare for your arrival. 954-389-5656.
If you have an emergency outside of our regular business hours, please proceed to the nearest emergency veterinary facility. Scroll down for a list of emergency facilities throughout the Broward County area.
During an emergency, remember to:
|
1. STAY CALM. Your pet can sense your energy and may become more stressed or aggressive if they see you are upset. 2. TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO STAY SAFE. Painful animals will bite and/or scratch anyone (including their owners) to protect themselves. Use blankets, carriers, leashes, muzzles, etc to keep pets from inflicting injury. 3. COMMUNICATE. Let the hospital know you are coming and what the emergency is so they can prepare for your arrival. Jot down or record important details relevant to the emergency so you can relay the information to the doctor. 4. DRIVE SAFE. You can't get help for your pet if you don't get there. If you're too upset to drive ask a family member or neighbor to drive for you. |
