Wellness & Preventive Medicine

We focus on preventive (not reactive) medicine for all patients. Annual wellness visits include a comprehensive physical exam to help detect illness early. We also recommend routine vaccines (including rabies), annual wellness testing for systemic disease, heartworm disease, and intestinal parasites, and year-round prevention for internal and external parasites. Additional support includes behavioral guidance, nutrition counseling, weight management, senior pet care, and exotic pet wellness.

Radiology Services

Our hospital uses digital radiography to obtain high-quality x-ray images to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Each radiograph is also reviewed by a board-certified radiologist for additional interpretation and thorough evaluation.

Surgical Services

Weston Road Animal Hospital is equipped with a sterile surgical suite and advanced anesthesia monitoring comparable to human hospitals. Our highly trained nursing team and comprehensive pain-management protocols help support your pet’s safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery.

Pharmacy

We offer a full veterinary pharmacy for established patients, including medications for illness management, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick control. We also carry prescription diets for nutritional support. If a medication isn’t available in-house, we can prescribe it through our online pharmacy with delivery to your door.

Pet Dental Care

We emphasize preventive dental health with vet-approved home-care options such as brushing, dental treats, prescription dental diets, rinses, and water additives (available in our hospital). We also perform professional dental cleanings and full-mouth oral exams under general anesthesia, including polishing, dental radiography, gingivectomy, and tooth extractions when needed.

Advanced Exotic Animal Care

We provide medical care for many pets beyond dogs and cats, including birds, rabbits, ferrets, rodents (mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, guinea pigs), and many reptiles such as non-venomous snakes, iguanas, turtles/tortoises, and more. Our hospital is equipped with specialized supplies and we work with labs experienced in exotic species. Consultations with exotic veterinarians from zoos and Colleges of Veterinary Medicine may also be available.
